It follows the acquittal by a judge of two 16-year-olds charged with murdering 10-year-old Damilola in Peckham, south London, in November 2000.
The record will feature tracks by Des'ree, Damage and Courtney Pine. It will also include the tribute single Wake up the Morning, sung by Gabrielle, who is from nearby Brockley. Spice Girl Emma Bunton, boy band Blue and Damon Albarn, of Blur and Gorillaz, are also in discussions about contributing songs. Face told BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat the song was "about everything that's going on in the world - that there's no love". "All the bad stuff that is going on in society, we want to take that away and make it good and make it happy, not just for us, but for everyone," he said.
The singer was charged with driving while disqualified and without insurance last week in Brixton. The 23-year-old is due to return to court on 16 May for sentencing. So Solid Crew member Ashley Walters - aka Asher D - is currently serving an 18-months sentence in a young offenders' institution for possessing an illegal gun. Like Damilola Taylor, Walters hails from Peckham. | See also: Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top Music stories now: Links to more Music stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
