New face Mark Durden-Smith

The 33-year-old has presented rugby union coverage since 1997, as well as other shows including the daily Sky Sports Centre.

The new programme replaces The Big Breakfast which was dropped last month because of poor ratings.

Durden-Smith will be joined by three other main presenters on the show, whose logo is designed to resemble a digital clock.

MTV presenter Edith Bowman will cover entertainment news.

Colin Murray, the face of the Channel 4's programme strand 4 Music, will take charge of features.

The new team

Kirsty Gallacher, who presents on Sky One and Sky Sports, will cover sport.

Reporters Liz Bonnin and Henry Bonsu will also appear regularly.

Bonnin comes from Ireland's RTE network, while Bonsu comes from radio station BBC London.

Sky News presenter Chris Rogers, who has also presented Newsround, will read the news bulletins.

Channel 4 commissioned the new show from BSkyB and Princess Productions.

The Big Breakfast ended on 29 March after a 10-year run.

In its heyday, with presenter Chris Evans, it attracted two million viewers.

But Channel 4 decided to pull the plug on the programme after audiences fell to just 250,000.
