The contestants are: Alastair, 34, from Motherwell, Strathclyde, - runs a family oil distribution business and was previously in the RAF. Alastair said: "I think if I won �1 million, I don't think much would actually change. I would invest most of it. Saying that, if I actually had �1 million in my hand, who knows what I would end up doing with it?"
She said: "I can dig a latrine. I can make a shelter. I can quite easily catch food. I don't know actually what I would do with �1 million." David, 54, from Newcastle, - retired fireman. He said: "My biggest passion in life is Newcastle United, then the wife." Drew, 27, from Abingdon, Oxfordshire, - former police officer-turned fire fighter. She said: "What I dread most is when hunger and dehydration will take over. I'm dreading that feeling of having to cope." John, 32, from Winchester, Hampshire, - former Royal Marine, now a barrister.
"I am very childish and never take anything seriously. Hopefully my childishness will keep people's humour up. That's my main weapon." Jonny, 30, from Edinburgh, - CID officer. He said: "I will tell the truth about who I am and what I do. I'm not intending on making up any lies or stories to get an advantage. "I've managed to get in some practice breaking pheasants' necks. If I'm hungry I'll be even keener to do it." Lee, 25, from Thundersley, Essex, - motor sales manager. in the motor industry. He said: "I'm not the most patient person in the world at the best of times and when I'm hungry my patience goes even quicker."
She said: "On the island I am hoping I won't turn into someone I'm not, just to win that money. But if you are the nice guy then you just get voted off, so if it means playing a mean game then I'll do it." Sarah, 22, from London, - financial trader. She said: "To prepare myself for Survivor I've actually been on some sunbeds. I just want to get a nice suntan, I don't want to go there and burn. I guess being a stereotypical blonde - tall, blonde, slim - is going to help me on the island." Susannah, 27, from Wimbledon, - a teacher. She said: "I can come across as stuck-up. I hope people's first impressions don't prejudice them against me." Helen, 22, from Sheffield, - hotel worker. Helen said: "If I won �1 million I would build mum a conservatory. Me and my sister want to live together in the house next door." Tayfun, 27, from London, - competitive Latin-American dancer. He said said: "To prepare for Survivor I have been running all around London to get fit and reading books on survival.
