It's always been there. Not a lot of people know this but all music is always there, and the media just picks one out to highlight form time to time.

Now That's What I Call Music number - whatever the last one was called.

What was the first record you bought?

Chicago's Greatest Hits. This was in 1976, before they went all soft.

Where do you most like listening to music - and why?

In the car. My car has a mental stereo system in it and there is usually no-one else there to distract me while I listen.

Are there any songs you can't listen to because they remind you of something you would rather forget?

For some love-based reason, the song It Never Entered My Mind by Sarah Vaughan is a toughie.

Which song by another artist would you most like to have written?

I think Yesterday is a bit of a killer - great chord sequence, resonant lyrics, brilliant tune.

Which song from the past 12 months is most likely to gain classic status?

Can't Get You Out Of My Head - sung by Kylie, but sadly for her, not written by her.

Miles Davis, the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and Steps.
