 | | Thursday, 7 March, 2002, 18:19 GMT Myers to play Seuss' Cat  Myers made his name in Wayne's World Austin Powers star Mike Myers will play The Cat In The Hat in a film adaptation of the Dr Seuss children's book. Shooting on the project will begin at Universal Studios in Hollywood this autumn. The film will use characters from the original book, published in 1957, together with new ones.
Myers said: "It's great fun to be in a children's movie and it's an honour to be asked to be in the world of Dr Seuss." Producer Brian Grazer said: "Dr Seuss' The Cat In The Hat offers a wealth of opportunity to bring something really special to the screen, and it offers the perfect showcase for the incredibly gifted Mike Myers." Myers will next be seen on screen in the third Austin Powers film, which was originally entitled Goldmember, but will now have to change after complaints from producers of the James Bond films. The last Dr Seuss adaptation was How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
