| Saturday, 23 February, 2002, 23:06 GMT Kylie hints at marriage plans ![]() Kylie conceded she once put her career before love Kylie Minogue has revealed to chat show host Michael Parkinson that she may marry her British boyfriend, James Gooding. In an interview broadcast by the BBC on Saturday evening, the Australian pop singer said she is "sure it will happen" when asked if she wants to settle down and start a family. Minogue, 33, has enjoyed a great week, having received two Brit awards and stole the show at Earls Court.
Asked on Parkinson if she wants to marry Gooding and have children with him, she said: "I think so... yes. "I always try and not say yes or no because who knows? But I'm sure it will happen." Minogue's happiness with the 26-year-old Essex-born model comes despite her admission that she has in the past put her career before her love life. "My current aim for the future is to find better harmony. "I love, love work. I have 15 years' experience which I use all the time. Drugs "But I have neglected a degree of my personal life which is not good and I berate myself for that." The former soap star, who became famous in Britain as Charlene in Neighbours, spoke warmly about her relationship with late INXS frontman Michael Hutchence. "He was incredibly charismatic, very intelligent, generous, funny and a fabulous storyteller. "He was just larger than life but humble with it.
"I met him at a point in my life when I was just ready to look at the world and it was like he took my blinkers off." She admitted Hutchence's life involved drugs and alcohol and that she experimented. "I, like most people, had a little two or three year period in my life where I went out all the time and I did experience some of those things. "But it doesn't suit me long term. I'd rather have my wits about me so I never really fell into it. I'm basically quite straight and boring." Minogue, who recently stormed the US charts, is joined on tonight's show by fellow Antipodean stars Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett. | See also: Top Showbiz stories now: Links to more Showbiz stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
