| Friday, 8 February, 2002, 18:01 GMT Kylie storms the US ![]() Kylie Minogue appeared in Moulin Rouge Kylie Minogue looks set to finally conquer the US after her hit Can't Get You Out Of My Head stormed into the top 20. After only four weeks, the Australian pop star's dance anthem has jumped up to the number 20 spot in the Billboard charts.
Minogue has only had one major hit in the US, back in 1989 with The Locomotion. Since then the singer has dominated charts around the world, but failed to crack the tough US market. The song, co-written by 1980's pop star Cathy Dennis, has already sold a million in the UK alone and has been a massive hit around the globe. It is already number one in the US dance charts.
Two years ago she hit the number one spot in the UK with Spinnin' Around and she produced a show stopping performance at the closing ceremony of the Sydney Olympics. She also made a brief cameo appearance in the hit film Moulin Rouge. Also doing well in the US charts is UK garage star Craig David. The rapper is at number 13 with Seven Days, his second top 20 hit across the Atlantic. | See also: Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top Music stories now: Links to more Music stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
