Singer Zee dropped from Eurovision

Singer Zee Asha, one of the finalists in the UK's Song for Europe competition, has been disqualified because her song has already been released in Hungary.

Asha was in the final four in the contest - which decides the UK's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest - with her track Never In A Million Years.

But she was dropped from the race after organisers found her record had sold 2,400 copies in June last year.

Asha and the other members of her band are said to have been unaware that they were breaking the rules.

Asha will now be replaced in the Song For Europe contest by a group called Level Best.

Jessica
Former pop idol contestant Jessica will compete with the other three finalists

They will perform a song called Every Step Of The Way. Level Best came fifth in the recent Radio 2 vote to decide the four finalists.

The other three entries are former Pop Idol contestant Jessica Garlick, ITV broadcaster Jonathan Maitland and Heartbeat actress Tricia Penrose.

The four acts will be put to the public vote on the BBC's Song For Europe programme on 3 March - from which the UK entry will emerge.

The winning song will represent the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest on 25 May in Tallinn, Estonia.

The UK will be hoping for a substantial improvement in its Eurovision fortunes, having come 15th in the 2001 contest - after finishing 16th in 2000.
