 | | Sunday, 13 January, 2002, 14:07 GMT Lloyd Webber toasts Starlight finale  Loyd Webber wants to keep Starlight alive Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber marked the last performance of his Starlight Express show on Saturday by taking a standing ovation from the audience. Lloyd Webber took the applause at the Apollo Victoria theatre, London, after the 7,406th performance of the 18-year-old musical. He said he was hoping to take the show on a national tour.
"We will find a way of doing it again." Eight million people have seen Starlight Express since it first opened in March 1984, and the show has taken over �140m in box office receipts. The first show to be performed solely on roller skates, Lloyd Webber wrote it to amuse his two children, who are now in their 20s and attended Saturday's final performance. It is the second-longest running musical in West End history, after another Lloyd Webber musical, Cats - which has been showing for 20 years.
