Eastwood's daughter escapes blaze
Gutted house
The house in Vancouver was gutted
Clint Eastwood's eight-year-old daughter and his ex-girlfriend were taken to hospital after fire swept through their Canada home.

Actress Frances Fisher's daughter by the actor, Francesca Eastwood, is thought to have jumped from the burning roof of the two-storey building.

She was caught by her mother and neighbours who had had come to the rescue.

Dirty Harry star Eastwood is said to have raced to the hospital to be by her side.

Fisher, 49, was living in Vancouver while she filmed the TV show Glory Days.

She dated Eastwood in the late 1980s after meeting him on the set of Pink Cadillac.

She went onto appear alongside Eastwood in Unforgiven, which saw him pick up an Oscar.

Acting debut

Later film roles included Titanic, in which she played the mother of Kate Winslet's character.

Francesca has already made her acting debut, appearing alongside both parents in the 1999 thriller True Crime.

Fisher was admitted to Vancouver General Hospital suffering a severe burn to the hand.

Francesca was treated for smoke inhalation following the fire.

Friends were alerted to the fire by Fisher screaming on the front lawn in the early hours of Christmas morning, neighbour Katherine Charters told The Province newspaper.

Francesca had climbed out of her bedroom window and was coaxed down by rescuers.

Neighbours are rallying around to collect presents for the mother and daughter, who lost everything in the fire.

Firefighters have yet been unable to determine the cause of the blaze because of the devastation caused.
