| Monday, 24 December, 2001, 14:21 GMT My Music: Ian Van Dahl ![]() Ian Van Dahl: Not a man after all Despite the name, Ian Van Dahl is not a male dance boffin, but a female Belgian trio who decided to use the name so Brits could pronounce it. Their tune Castles in the Sky was one of the year's biggest hits and a dancefloor anthem. Frontwoman AnneMie Coenen shared her favourite Christmas tunes. Which song most reminds you of the festive season and why? Last Christmas by Wham! is the ultimate Christmas song for me. I get in a romantic mood when I hear that song, and it feels like Christmas. If you were to record a contender for Christmas number one, which classic song would you choose? I think that would have to be White Christmas.
Prince, because I admire him. He's talented and I love his songs. Is there any Christmas pop song you wish you had written? Maybe Last Christmas by Wham! Which song would you like to hear as you celebrate New Year - except Auld Lang Syne. Our new single Will I? What would be your fantasy line-up for a Christmas Day edition of Top of the Pops? That would be Lenny Kravitz, Prince, Madonna, TLC and perhaps Ian Van Dahl? How will you be spending Christmas Day and New Year Eve? I'm afraid that we'll have to work on those days. We have to perform in Malta. Which Christmas song do you despise the most and for what reason? When it's Christmas I'm very tolerant! From the past year, which CDs would you like to receive as Christmas gifts? Madonna and Lasgo's new albums. Which album would you take back for a refund? The new album from Eddy Wally. If you could record a novelty record which had a good chance of being the Christmas number one, would you go for it? I don't think that dance music really fits in with the Christmas atmosphere! But you never know what's going to happen when I'm 45! A very Merry Christmas from Ian Van Dahl! |
