J-Lo and pop veteran Sir Elton John top an all-star bill that includes fellow pop singers Craig David and Cher, and footballer-turned-actor Vinnie Jones. Security measures at the annual show, which will be performed in front of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh at London's Dominion Theatre, are expected to be unusually tough.
ITV is set to screen the event on Wednesday at 2000 GMT. Comedian Julian Clary is to host the show, with other highlights including the cast of the musical The Full Monty, comedian Al Murray and his Pub Landlord alter ego, and US comedian Jackie Mason. Former TV presenter Denise Van Outen, 70s pop star Donny Osmond, Vinnie Jones, teenage opera singer Charlotte Church and pop's Samantha Mumba will perform a tribute to the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber. Parkinson On Saturday, Lopez gave the only interview of her UK visit to BBC One's Michael Parkinson. The star said her new husband, the dancer and choreographer Cris Judd, was a calming presence. She recalled the first time the pair attended a premire together. "People were shouting: 'Jennifer, Jennifer!' So I looked over to Cris because they were screaming his name and asked him if he was OK. He was, like, 'Yeah, I'm fine.'
"But I think that's one of the wonderful things about our relationship, and him - he takes everything in his stride. " She also talked about the infamous December 1999 nightclub shooting incident, in which she was arrested with former boyfriend Sean "Puffy" Combs. "That was a really ugly situation. We were in the wrong place at the wrong time," she told Parkinson. "It was six o'clock in the morning, when my parents are getting ready to get up or whatever. "My father turns on the TV, and it's like, 'Jennifer Lopez and Sean Puffy Combs in a club shooting'. So he didn't know whether I'd been shot." | See also: Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top Showbiz stories now: Links to more Showbiz stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
