Emmerdale: Your views
Soap stars
The new family will be here for six months at least
ITV soap Emmerdale welcomed a new family to the show on Wednesday, a group of five actors who were picked from 6000 hopefuls on the ITV talent show, Soapstars.

On the day of their debut, Emmerdale producer Steve Frost announced that the actors' contracts would be extended from three months to six months.

On Thursday the Daily Mirror's deputy show business editor Alun Palmer described the newcomers as "a credit to the soap".

But what do you think?

Will the family be here for the long-term, like the Battersbys in Coronation Street? Or are they a flash in the pan? What do you think of their acting ability?

HAVE YOUR SAY

They are fanstatic and they have all worked very hard for this opportunity. Good luck to them!
Helen, UK

I thought the new family in Emmerdale were super and acted their first scenes out extremely well. Well done and keep up the good work.
Kate Roberts, UK
