Electronic editions of the two shows held first and second spots on a new toy sales chart for retailers Woolworths. The Weakest Link is in the lead this week, but retailers expect close competition in the coming months.
"Both games should be massive hits this Christmas," said Jo Hall, head of toys at Woolworths. Ms Hall praised both games and said there was not much to choose between them. The shows' famous hosts - Anne Robinson and Chris Tarrant - feature strongly, delivering their trademark catchphases.
Although the games are hotly tipped to be best-sellers, they will have to contend with competition from electronic game spin-offs from the forthcoming Harry Potter film. Other games based on TV programmes also feature in the Woolworths chart, including WWF Immortal Champions, Thunderbirds 2 Playset and the Bob The Builder Gift Set. | See also: Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top New Media stories now: Links to more New Media stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
