| Sunday, 23 September, 2001, 07:55 GMT 08:55 UK Partridge revived for charity ![]() Alan Partridge was last seen on Radio Norwich's breakfast show He is Norwich's least favourite son, a blazered buffoon of a chat show host best known for shooting one of his guests live on air. Now Alan Partridge is being brought back from three years of retirement by creator Steve Coogan for a one-off charity fundraiser. The bumbling spoof personality will be comp�re at an evening called Drugathon with other comedy stars at London's Old Vic Theatre on Sunday 30 September.
Other stars set to take the stage with him and raise cash for London-based charity, the Drug Dependency Centre, include Ruby Wax, Channel 4's Armstrong and Miller, star of The Fast Show Paul Whitehouse and actors Alan Rickman and Gary Oldman. A spokesman for the event said: "It's an extravaganza of hilarity and music. Cash target "Alan Partridge will be holding the thing together as well as interacting with the individual acts. "It's a real one-off - never again will these stars be coming together to present a show like this." The aim is to raise upwards of �50,000 to help establish similar centres in major cities across the UK.
