The singer came under attack at BBC Radio 1's One Big Sunday from a small group in the crowd when she sang her upcoming single, Not Such An Innocent Girl. Beckham told GMTV: "Singing live is something that I will do and is something that I feel I have to do, to prove to everybody I can sing."
"At a lot of these live shows, 80% of people are actually miming - you don't get any soundcheck," Beckham told GMTV. 'Battle' And the star played down the much-touted chart clash with singer Kylie Minogue who releases her new single, Can't Get You Out Of My Head, on 17 September- the same day as Posh's new release. "The artists don't actually get involved in that battle. "Kylie has been around for three decades and is a really successful solo artist," said the singer. The star's autobiography, currently being serialised in the Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday, includes the revelation that she once punched footballer husband David Beckham in the mouth.
In Learning to Fly the singer describes how she heard claims that the England football captain had kissed another girl while the Spice Girls were on a world tour - and Victoria was pregnant with Brooklyn. Despite his denials, she said she "went straight up to him and just swung at him, punched him in the face". She added: "I hit him so hard I cut the inside of his mouth. Even then, with blood dripping down his chin, I just felt angry and hurt."
The Spice Girl has also revealed she suffered from an eating disorder and was "obsessed" with her appearance. Anorexia "In the gym, instead of checking my posture or position, I was checking the size of my bottom, or to see if my double chin was getting any smaller," she wrote.
Beckham said it was Geri Halliwell who encouraged her and Mel C to go running and take liquid meal substitutes. Beckham has landed what is thought to be the highest price paid for the exclusive serialisation of an autobiography. Learning To Fly, complete with photographs of the star from spotty teenager to plump student to solo career snaps, will be published on 13 September. | See also: Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top Showbiz stories now: Links to more Showbiz stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
