| Tuesday, 31 July, 2001, 15:49 GMT 16:49 UK Big Brother winner 'in talks' with MTV ![]() Brian could soon be celebrating an even bigger payday Big Brother winner Brian Dowling was in talks with music channel MTV on Tuesday about a possible role as a presenter. The 70,000 prize winner of the Channel 4 gameshow could increase his earnings with a deal to introduce videos for the station.
He is also a music fan who sang and danced a number of times in the Big Brother house. An MTV spokesman said: "We are in talks with his people. We think he's great, but as to whether something will happen, who knows? We want to get him in for a screen test." Proposal MTV recently developed a proposal for a breakfast show to replace the outgoing Big Breakfast show on Channel 4.
After winning the show Dowling insisted he would return to his job as a Ryanair steward, which is being kept open for him until 1 September. However, this looks increasingly unlikely with the number of job offers flooding in. The runner-up, bubbly hairdresser Helen Adams, is also being offered opportunities in television. She is in discussions with Sky One over a possible role on a new lifestyle programme being fronted by Lorraine Kelly. |
