| Thursday, 19 July, 2001, 16:01 GMT 17:01 UK Del Boy museum planned ![]() The Trotters' Reliant van will be a main exhibit Britain's keenest Only Fools and Horses fan is creating a museum devoted to the Trotters. Warehouse manager Perry Aghajanoff is to establish an exhibition to show off the family's Reliant van, Del's sheepskin coat and hundreds of other items. He and other fans have amassed a collection in the garage of his home at Basildon, Essex and at other places across the country. Now he is looking for a permanent site in Essex suitable for visitors.
Mr Aghajanoff is president of the Only Fools and Horses Appreciation Society, which claims 6,000 members. "I think it will work and will go down really, really well," he said. "We have amassed this collection over the past seven years and we thought 'why not open it to the public?'.
Mr Aghajanoff and his club own one of the Reliant Regan vans used in the series. They have a Ford Capri and a boat used in different episodes, Uncle Albert's anorak, Trigger's donkey jacket and scripts and photographs. Museum visitors will also be able to visit the bar pf the Nag's Head and there are plans to recreate the Trotters' Peckham flat. The appreciation society has regular conventions attended by members of the cast. There are hopes that characters such as Trigger, played by Roger Lloyd Pack and Mickey Pearce (Pat Murray) will be persuaded to attend the opening. |
