Got Your Money was a radio and chart hit

He was arrested in July 1999 when police found cocaine and marijuana in his car after he was pulled over for driving through a red light.

The rapper was later sent to a Los Angeles rehabilitation centre, but went on the run from authorities last October.

He surfaced to play a concert in November, and was tracked down by police shortly after.

As a member of the highly successful New York rap group Wu Tang Clan, Jones has sold millions of records - both with the band and on his own.

Controversy

His most recent solo single, Got Your Money, was released last year and became a radio and chart hit.

Jones, 32, is also known as Big Baby Jesus and has previously been involved in a number of controversial incidents.

Since 1987, he has been wounded in shootings and arrested on a list of charges, including drug possession, menacing security officers, illegally possessing body armour, driving with a suspended licence, shoplifting and threatening a former girlfriend.
