Morrison immortalised by doll
Jim Morrison is to be remembered 30 years after his death by a mass-produced plastic doll.

The lead singer of The Doors, nicknamed the Lizard King, will have his figure sold in music shops and gift shops in the United States.

Accessories include a microphone, stand, and a base with the Doors logo. It will be available in September according to maker Ken Renstein, speaking to the New York Post.

Some 30,000 fans attended Pere Lachaise cemetery to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Morrison's death.


Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes wedding on hold

The wedding of TLC singer Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes and American Football player Andre Rison has been postponed according to Lopes' spokesman.

Lopes had reserved the Atlanta Botanical Garden for a wedding, and Rison confirmed the date during a radio interview.

Lopes' spokesman was hopeful that they would get married eventually.


New museum has unusual Elvis exhibit

The Rockabilly Hall of Fame, a new museum in Jackson, Tennessee has an unusual exhibit in its collection.

The star exhibit is the defibrillator and paddles which were used to try and revive the dying Elvis Presley in 1977.

"The fact is that it's history," said museum owner and curator Henry Harrison, who raised around $300,000 (�214,000) to open the one-room museum, which has no actual hall of fame yet.

Jackson was the home of Rockabilly singer Carl Perkins, best known for Blue Suede Shoes. He died there in 1998.


Hayek launches Harrods summer sale

Salma Hayek has officially opened the summer sales at Harrods.

Hayek had to confess she had already cast an eye over the discounts on offer.

She said: "I came here yesterday on a scouting mission, as all actresses do, to find out where to get the best bargains from."

Hayek has recently finished shooting on a biopic of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. She was escorted around Harrods by store owner Mohammed al Fayed.
