 | | Monday, 2 July, 2001, 11:08 GMT 12:08 UK Roskilde rocks again The Roskilde music festival, which ended in tragedy last year when nine festival goers were killed in a crowd stampede, has closed after a successful and safe event at the weekend. Festival organiser Leif Skov thanked the crowd for their enthusiasm and "caring behaviour." Around 100,000 people attended the event, to hear an international range of artists including Wyclef Jean, Neil Young, Burning Spear, Patti Smith, Robbie Williams, Bob Dylan and The Cure.  Burning Spear gave the crowd some roots reggae at teatime on Friday  Bob Dylan performs on the main stage on Saturday  Robbie Williams took the stage late on Saturday night  Patti Smith was the festival's penultimate act on Sunday  A Patti Smith fan in the Roskilde audience  The audience was praised for its good behaviour  Robert Smith of The Cure, who closed the festival main stage  A long weekend of music was all too much for some fans | |
