 | | Monday, 4 June, 2001, 13:01 GMT 14:01 UK Anne Robinson plans bio-pic  Anne Robinson: "If you're under 50, you're watching me" TV presenter Anne Robinson has said she would like the actress Shirley MacLaine to play her in a movie of her life. "I am due to meet with a major film company who want to make a two-hour movie of my life." Robinson told the Sun newspaper. Talking about casting possibilities, Robinson added: "I would love Shirley [MacLaine] to play the older me but I don't know about the younger me." Shaky start The show she presents, The Weakest Link, has become hugely successful in America after a shaky start. It regularly outperforms fellow British import Who Wants to Be A Millionaire?, and had higher ratings than the last in the current series of popular legal comedy drama Ally McBeal. The Weakest Link is said by US critics to be the number one choice for the 18-49 year old audience which makes up the majority of American viewers. "If you are under 50 you are watching me," Robinson has said. NBC feels that their investment in Robinson has paid off to the extent that they are planning a second weekly edition of the show. Recognised In the interview, Robinson admits to having to come to terms with her new lifestyle.
"It is all incredibly exciting. I can't believe how much my life has changed in the last six months. I am congratulated and recognised far more in the US than I ever was in England." Robinson said. An indicator of Robinson's new found status was when she had lunch in The Ivy in LA, a well-known celebrity haunt, when Penny Marshall, director of Big and A League of Their Own, ran over to Robinson's table. "She had taped the show and was rushing home to watch it. Then she began to reel off half of my expressions. I was so flattered," Robinson said. Queen of Mean Robinson's sharp tongue and menacing stare have led Americans to dub her the Queen of Mean. Her status was vindicated after a chance meeting at an LA Lakers basketball game in Los Angeles. She bumped into boxer Mike Tyson. "I knew I'd conquered America when Mike Tyson told me I was one mean lady," laughed Robinson. "Later my husband tapped him on the arm and said 'I hear you've been calling my lady mean.'"
