The comedian had picked up two British Academy of Film and Television Awards at the star-studded ceremony but one was apparently taken during the event. But when the Channel 4 star found that after he left the awards on his table to go backstage, one had disappeared. The ceremony organisers put out an appeal over the tannoy system but to no avail, and a Bafta spokeswoman told BBC News Online: "It still hasn't turned up.
"Hopefully the original will turn up in due course. "We're sorry that one of his Baftas went missing - but we're glad he was still able to go home with two." Baron Cohen won his awards for best comedy performance and best comedy programme. Coronation Street star Tracy Shaw also suffered a loss on the night when her �1,600 designer shoes disappeared.
The actress had taken off the expensive Jimmy Choo footwear to dance at the after-show party as the cast celebrated their special Bafta award for the show.
