Diving instructor S�ren has not explained why he quit the show

A judge in Copenhagen upheld TVDanmark's contention that the 12 contestants on Big Brother had signed contracts which gave the broadcaster control over what is said or reported to the press.

Mikkel Faurholdt, a spokesman for TVDanmark, told BBC News Online: "The court hearing was held behind closed doors and it took 14 hours to resolve the case.

'Dialogue'

"The judge agreed that the three contestant have to live up to their contract."

The three contestants walked out of the show threatening to "destroy the programme".

Mr Faurholdt said Pil, S�ren and Christian would be speaking to the media but only under the control of TVDanmark.

He said: "They will be speaking to the press but when we decide.

"We feel very glad that the case is over and the judge agreed with us."

He added: "We are going into a dialogue with these people in order to decide how to move forward."

There are just four contestants left on the programme, which is due to finish on 10 May.

Big Brother, which started life in the Netherlands in 1999, has become one of the most talked-about programmes in Denmark, emulating the success the UK version enjoyed last year.
