Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams picked up their trophy at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards ceremony in California on Saturday night.
The Nickelodeon awards ceremony has unmistakable drawing power. Last year's drew an audience of nearly 10m, including more than four million adult viewers. This year's ceremony featured performances by Destiny's Child and teen rap sensation Lil' Bow Wow, who snatched the award for favourite male singer. Another teen favourite was Drew Barrymore, who was rewarded for her role in the Charlie's Angels movie. Glamour and slime
Away from the glamour, there was also slime, a favourite ingredient of children's TV shows. In the past, the green goo has drenched stars like Will Smith, Rosie O'Donnell and James Earl Jones. This year it was the turn of actor Tom Cruise, who was slimed as he received the tongue-in-cheek wannabe award. Among the glittering array of presenters were actresses Cameron Diaz and Halle Berry and actors Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy. |
