Mourning: Keanu Reeves
Jennifer Syme, a 29-year-old record executive, died instantly when her Jeep Cherokee hit three parked cars and overturned on a Hollywood boulevard.

Police said they were investigating whether drugs played any part in the crash after medication and dollar bills coated with traces of white powder were found in the vehicle.

Ms Syme had been suffering from depression and was receiving medication after her baby daughter was stillborn in late 1999.

Roles

Keanu Reeves, star of The Matrix, would not comment publicly, said his publicist Cheryl Maisel.

Ms Syme had a small role in David Lynch's 1997 movie Lost Highway starring Bill Pullman and Patricia Arquette.

Keanu Reeves' best-known films include The Devil's Advocate, Speed, Bram Stoker's Dracula and Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.

His most recent projects include The Gift, Sweet November, and Hardball.

He has also signed up for two sequels to the 1999 blockbuster The Matrix expected in 2002 and 2003.

Aside from his acting, Reeves plays bass guitar in a pop band, Dogstar.
