Sir Cliff delivers fans breakfast
Sir Cliff Richard
Sir Cliff is back touring after his year off
Veteran pop star Sir Cliff Richard is to send out hot breakfasts for devoted fans who queue all night for his concert tickets.

Sir Cliff is returning from a year-long sabbatical for a 12-night run at London's Royal Albert Hall in May.

Tickets go on sale for the string of dates from Sunday, but already, days before, fans are queuing outside the venue.

As well as going on tour, Sir Cliff is back in the studio with long-time collaborator Alan Tarney working on new material for an album.

I've loved my year off but I must say I'm looking forward to being back on stage and seeing everyone again.

The singer released the dates of his run at the Royal Albert Hall on his own website but news quickly spread.

Good to be back

The 60-year-old has been so touched by the dedication of his fans, who are determined to secure a ticket by being at the head of the line, he is attempting to make their queuing time more comfortable.

He said: "My lot are the best. They never cease to amaze me and the least I can do is make sure they have a hot breakfast.

A spokeswoman for the singer confirmed bacon sandwiches, croissants and coffee will be handed out to supporters on Saturday and Sunday.
