Popstars make stage debut
Hear'say on the Pepsi Chart Show, Channel 5: Kym Marsh, Danny Foster, Noel Sullivan, Suzanne Shaw, Myleene Klass
Going live, almost: Hear'Say strut their stuff
Popstars group Hear'Say are promising to sing live for a TV appearance on Saturday, after miming their way through their stage debut.

They seemed a bit nervous at first but they soon got into it

Channel 5 spokesman
The five-piece, who have become household names through the ITV series following their formation, lip-synched two songs - Pure And Simple and Bridge Over Troubled Water - for an appearance on the Pepsi Chart Show, to be screened next month.

But a spokesman said Kym Marsh, Suzanne Shaw, Danny Foster, Noel Sullivan and Myleene Klass, were saving their live debut for an appearance on ITV's Saturday morning show SM:TV this weekend.

He said the group had planned to perform live for the Pepsi Chart Show, but backing tracks were not ready.

'Bitterly disappointed'

"The instrumental version of the songs wasn't ready for them and won't be available until Friday because they are still mixing the album," he explained.

"They are bitterly disappointed not to be able to sing live but they can't wait to prove that they can sing on Saturday's SM:TV show."

Earlier this week Kym Marsh told the NME: "When the other acts are opting out and miming, we always sing live."

However, in the same interview, Myleene Klass added: "If we have to mime, then at least we'll be miming to our own vocals."

The quintet were casually dressed for their Pepsi Chart Show appearance, with Suzanne Shaw appearing without the hair extensions added after she was picked.

A Channel 5 spokesman said: "It was the first show in front of a live audience so it was quite a big feat for them to get it over with.

"They seemed a bit nervous at first but they soon got into it."
