Her mother was seen holding a balloon bearing the words "Just Married", according to the Sun newspaper, sparking the rumours.

But spokeswoman for the Spice Girls quickly confirmed that Emma had not married.

Emma, 25, who has a house in Hampstead, north London, began her relationship with Jade Jones - a singer with the band Damage - in 1998.

She releases her debut solo album and single in April.

Mel B introduced the couple in 1997 while the Spice Girls were performing in Manchester.

They split briefly in 1999, but marriage speculation intensified earlier this month when the couple sang a romantic duet on Damage's second album, Since You've Been Gone.

Emma has previously dated Rio Ferdinand and actor John Simm.
