The band does not yet have a name though a prime contender is said to be Inner Spin.

Speaking on Saturday, mother-of-two Kym, 24, from Wigan, said: "I'm looking forward to performing live, being able to buy my kids the best of everything."

Kym had her first record deal at 13 and has sung backing vocals with bands including Mother Earth.

Myleene, 22, from Norfolk, has sung with Sir Cliff Richard, Michael Crawford, and kd lang.

Her mother, Bong Klass said: "I'm very, very happy for her. I'm really proud that she got in. "When you think of all the things they went through, it was pretty tough going, it was very scary sometimes.

"Every parent is always hopeful that their child will do well and so was I.

She has always wanted to do something like this, to be a star. I'm really thrilled for her."

Actress turned singer, 19-year-old, Suzanne, from Bury has appeared in television dramas including City Central and Holby City.

Trainee primary school teacher, Danny, 21, from east London, said: "If you like flowers you become a florist and if you like singing and dancing you become a pop star."

Cardiff 20-year-old, Noel, who has performed with a puppet show in Ibiza and toured America with a male choir, said he was doing it for his mum.

"She's so proud of me."

He added: "The best thing about being in the band is performing opposite four such talented people, and I really mean that."

The five losers, who could yet be signed up by a rival record label, are: Jessica Taylor, 20, from Preston, Kelli Young, 18, from London, Michelle Heaton, 21, from Newcastle on Tyne, from London, Kevin Simm, 20, from Blackburn, and Tony Lundon, 21, from Galway.

An LWT spokesman said: "We will be acting to ensure they get the best recording deal either as a band or as individuals."

Earlier rejects include Darius Danesh, a 20-year-old student from Scotland.

He remains convinced he will be more successful than the Popstar winners by recording a solo number one record and a triple-platinum selling album by the time he is 35.

"I think I've been given a gift and I think it would be a sin if I didn't share that with people." he said.

Another ditched Popstar, Claire Freeland, has teamed up with the producer behind Eurythmics and Simply Red to record a potential single.
