| Tuesday, 23 January, 2001, 17:29 GMT The Corrs cancel royal concert ![]() Sharon, Andrea and Jim Corr in action last year Irish group The Corrs have cancelled a royal gala concert in London because lead singer Andrea Corr has a "serious" ear infection. The band, whose hits include I Never Loved You Anyway and Breathless, were due to play for the Prince of Wales at the Royal Albert Hall on 29 January.
A spokeswoman said: "Unless she has complete rest from touring and performing at this time, she is likely to incur permanent damage." Andrea's brother and fellow band member Jim Corr said: "This is the first time in our career we have had to pull shows. "We are really sorry to disappoint the fans and look forward to making it up to them." Prince Charles had asked The Corrs to play in aid of his Prince's Trust after he saw them perform last summer. A spokesperson for the Prince said: "He is very disappointed and hopes Andrea will make a speedy recovery." |
