| Friday, 10 November, 2000, 12:36 GMT Comedy stars fight it out ![]() Ant and Dec: Moving to ITV after row over BBC show TV presenters Ant and Dec have been nominated for the best personality prize in next month's British Comedy Awards. The pair, nominated for their BBC One show Friends Like These, are up against Channel 4's Graham Norton and Lily Savage, alias Paul Grady. Ant and Dec recently announced they were to quit the successful gameshow after talks about a new series broke down. BBC One sitcom The Royle Family, named best TV comedy in last year's comedy awards, has scooped several nominations. The show is up against BBC Two's League of Gentlemen and Victoria Wood's Dinnerladies for this year's best comedy award.
Other nominees include Alistair McGowan for his Big Impression show, while Harry Hill is in the running for the best Live Stand-Up Award. ITV dominates the best comedy drama nominations with shows Bob Martin, starring Michael Barrymore, Cold Feet and Safe as Houses. The ceremony will be broadcast live from the London Television Centre on the capital's South Bank on 16 December.
