Indian 3G auction doubles expectations

India's government has raised $14.6 billion US dollars by auctioning off 3G licenses to the country's mobile phone operators. That's nearly twice as much as it originally expected.

But Vodafone, who paid around $2.5 billion dollars for its licence, has just criticised the government for allowing too much competition.
