Private firm offers to deliver mail

Royal Mail has offered to approach the conciliation service Acas to discuss modernisation, but only if planned strikes are called off.

Britain's largest private mail company, TNT, has said it would like to put its own staff on the streets to carry out deliveries if the strikes go ahead.

Chief Executive, Nick Wells admitted that there would be challenges ahead.
