The London Evening Standard is to become a free newspaper.

About 600,000 copies of the paper - which currently costs 50p - will be given out in London from 12 October, more than doubling the current circulation.

The paper's deputy editor Sarah Sands joined the Independent newspaper's media analyst Stephen Glover to discuss the move.

They were speaking to Shaun Ley on Radio 4's The World At One.
