Small firms struggle to get credit

New Jersey shop owner Kristen Scalia is one of many US entrepreneurs struggling to secure credit.

She was forced to turn to relatives for financial help after being refused a loan by a string of banks.

The collapse of Lehman Brothers last year was the largest bankruptcy in US corporate history and triggered a credit freeze that is still hurting small businesses.
