The future of the struggling US car giant Chrysler still hangs in the balance with reports it could be heading for bankruptcy protection.
The company, which is hoping to clinch a deal with Italy's Fiat, has until Thursday to come up with a restructuring programme if it is to receive an additional US$6bn of government funding.
