Iberia 'not being taken over'

Iberia boss Fernando Conte denied his firm was being taken over by the larger British Airways (BA) as they prepare to merge.

He added that Iberia and BA would retain their individual identities following any merger.

The directors of both companies support the idea which will be put to shareholders at a later date.
