The media firm founded by US lifestyle guru Martha Stewart has reported strong quarterly profits, boosted by increased magazine advertising sales. Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia said net profits rose to $16.2m (�8.2m) in the final three months of 2006, compared with $2.9m a year earlier.
The company's fortunes have turned around since Ms Stewart completed a prison sentence in 2005.
The household star was jailed for lying to investigators about a stock sale.
Since then, Ms Stewart has enjoyed something of a revival, presenting the US TV series The Apprentice, signing a $2m book deal and lining up new DVDs and merchandising deals. "We head into 2007 with tremendous confidence in our strategic direction, creative vitality and ability to execute on plan," said the firm's president and chief executive Susan Lyne.
"We have moved from a period of recovery to one of expansive growth, and remain focused on investing and delivering for our shareholders."
