Thomas Cook sees 'challenging' UK
Thomas Cook sign
Thomas Cook, the travel company that is planning to cut 2,800 jobs, has said the UK market remains "challenging".

The comments came as the firm said its half-year loss narrowed to 293m euros (197m) in the six months to 20 April, from 318.4m euros a year earlier.

On Tuesday, Thomas Cook said it would close 150 branches and six offices, in a move that may hit 15% of its staff.

The firm is restructuring its business after a recently completed 2.8bn merger with rival MyTravel.
