BP has had to deal with some high-profile problems recently
BP has said that its oil production stabilised in the last three months of 2006, despite a number of problems.

BP said it expects to have pumped 3.82 million barrels of oil per day in the three months from October to December, up from levels in the previous quarter

However, the figures missed analysts' targets of 4 million barrels, pushing BP's shares 3.1% lower in London.

BP has faced a number of setbacks, including leakage problems with pipes at its Prudhoe Bay oilfield in Alaska.

The energy giant's shares closed 17 pence lower at 535.5p on Tuesday.
