Stewart and Kodak to focus on web

US lifestyle guru Martha Stewart has signed a deal with Kodak to design a line of personalised stationery.

Under the deal, Ms Stewart will provide products such as invites which can be customised with customer photos on both Kodak's and her own website.

Neither Kodak nor Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia disclosed financial details of the deal - but they confirmed they would share revenues from the venture.

The two also said they hoped the tie-up would boost sales.

New focus

Kodak is currently struggling as it tries to reposition itself in the digital market as the traditional film market continues to shrink.

The new focus will allow Kodak to make more money from paper, ink and printing technology.

"We do expect more customers as a result of the partnership, and... we expect more printing as a result," said Kodak executive Sandra Morris.

The product range will be launched in September to coincide with the start of Ms Stewart's new TV show and make the most of the holiday season.

A number of websites - including Kodak's own Easyshare - allow users to put their pictures online where they can be edited, emailed and printed. The Stewart-Kodak tie-up hopes to capitalise on this market.

The new deal marks the latest step in the rehabilitation of Ms Stewart since her jail sentence for her part in a shares scandal.

Over the past year she has helmed the US TV series The Apprentice, signed a $2m book deal with and lined up new DVDs and merchandising deals - as well as being named one of Time Magazine's top 100 most influential people in 2005.
