Women are set to represent more than half of Britain's millionaires by 2020, according to a UK think tank. High divorce payouts and longer lives will mean 53% of millionaires will be women, says the Centre for Economics and Business Research.
The number of British millionaires will grow by more than four-fold to 1.7 million people by 2020.
Rising property prices and greater returns on stocks will also contribute to the rise
Property boom
Millionaires are likely to have much of their wealth tied up in property in years to come, the CEBR says.
The think-tank forecasts that the house prices will increase by 71% over the next 15 years.
The number of millionaires in Britain stands at 376,000, and is set to climb to 690,000 by 2010.
However, the average age of millionaires is expected to remain the same, at 56 years old.
