 Wallace and Gromit's first movie took two years to animate |
Despite the new Wallace & Gromit movie taking more than $160m (�92m) so far in global sales, it hasn't done enough in the US for studio Dreamworks Animation. In fact, Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit has contributed to a $656,000 third-quarter net loss at the company.
Dreamworks said it had taken a one-off write-down of $3.9m due to the film's less than expected showing in the US.
Revenues during the three months to 30 September were down 64% year on year.
They were reduced to $87.1m compared to $241.3m for the same period a year earlier.

One-off tax charges totalling $8m also contributed to the $656,000 third quarter loss.
Net profits in the third quarter of 2004 were $20.3m.
The Curse of the Were-Rabbit was actually released in the US during Dreamworks' ongoing fourth quarter, but the studio has budgeted the write-down into its third quarter results.
Dreamworks now expects its results for the whole of 2005 to fall at the lower end of previous expectations.
