Umbro makes the England kit |
Sportswear firm Umbro has confirmed plans to list its shares in London, and said a flotation could be achieved by the end of June. The firm did not say how much it hoped to raise, but estimates have given it a valuation of about 250m ($440m).
Umbro is best known for producing football strips, particularly for the England team.
The company is currently controlled by investment firm Doughty Hanson, which paid some 90m in 1999.
Doughty Hanson intends to sell some or all of its 83% stake in the flotation, which would put Umbro's expected market capitalisation at about 200m.
