Vodafone rings up Warners deal
Harry Potter - Warners
Vodafone users could be getting updates on new Harry Potter films
Mobile phone giant Vodafone's customers will soon be getting access to Warner Bros brands under a new deal.

The pair have signed a deal which will see the US film giant provide games, alerts and screensavers to Vodafone Live! customers.

Warners is behind big entertainment brands such as Harry Potter, The Matrix, Looney Tunes cartoons and the hit TV series Friends.

The pair are hoping to develop exclusive "made for mobile" content.

Movie updates

The agreement with Warner's online division covers 16 countries.

Vodafone said: "The agreement ... places Vodafone at the forefront of mobile entertainment provision."

Warner Bros Online general manager Jim Noonan added that the deal would increase the firm's ability to promote its vast library of entertainment properties.

Both parties refused to disclose the financial details of the deal.

Under the deal, the US film giant will initially provide games, screensavers, alerts and other mobile applications.

These will also include information on upcoming projects that Warners is working on - which could include updates on the latest Harry Potter films.
