Jobs blow for Stansted workers
Stansted Airport
Jobs are being axed despite expansion plans at Stansted
More than 270 jobs are to be cut at UK aircraft maintenance firm FLS Aerospace at Stansted airport.

FLS broke the news to unions on Friday, and officials now fear further cutbacks at its site at Manchester airport.

The Transport and General Workers Union said it would fight the job cuts, which it said were baffling given plans to expand traffic at Stansted.

The Danish-owned group maintains and repairs aircraft for a number of major carriers including Ryanair and Easyjet.
