Harrods owner Mohamed Al Fayed has won a High Court injunction banning a BBC programme about his tax affairs. The court order, effective for three weeks, came just hours before the Money Programme special was due to air.
Mr Fayed's lawyers accused the BBC of breaching an agreement which he claimed gave him the right to view the final edited version of the programme.
The BBC argued that Mr Fayed had already seen the programme in its almost entirely finished form.
The decision gives Mr Fayed time to argue his case, which will be tried at a future hearing.
The BBC programme centered around Mr Fayed's relations with the Inland Revenue, which it argued took an unreasonably lenient view of rich individuals' tax affairs.
Last year, after the Revenue resumed scrutiny of his tax affairs, Mr Fayed - who has tried and failed to secure a British passport - announced his intention to move to Switzerland.
