UK airport firm eyed for takeover
Luton Airport
TBI hopes for a boost from low-cost carriers
Shares in UK airport operator TBI rose 15% after it emerged a German firm was considering mounting a takeover bid.

Hochtief Airport said its interest may or may not lead to a formal offer and it had not yet approached TBI about it.

TBI operates airports including Luton, Cardiff and Belfast International as well as Stockholm Skavsta and three in Bolivia.

It has blamed slumping profits on a decline in scheduled and chartered flights from its UK airports.
