Testing times for condom maker
About ten billion condoms are used every year
German condom manufacturer Condomi is planning to recruit British and Irish students to road test its products.

The company aims to recruit about 100 testers, each of whom will be paid 100 a term over the next academic year.

The testers will be asked to assess "the comfort, pleasure and all round performance of each type of condom," and their feedback will be used by the company's research department to fine-tune its products.

"Using the feedback from eager consumers seems an ideal opportunity of testing every aspect of our performance," said Condomi marketing manager Victoria Wells.

Quality assured

The company stressed that all of its condoms have already been tested for quality.

Advertisements for testers are due to appear in university newspapers and on student radio stations in the UK and Ireland from Friday.

Applicants will also be able to fill out an application form available on the company's website.

In order to qualify, testers must already be in a relationship.

"I don't think we will have to look far for our new employees," said Ms Wells.

An estimated 10bn condoms are used worldwide every year.
